ISLAMABAD: The Presidency released a statement stating that President Asif Ali Zardari has awarded military decorations to forty-two commanders in the armed services.
In honor of Pakistan Day, a presidential investiture ceremony took place on Sunday at the Aiwan-i-Sadr. Families of the award recipients as well as senior military officers and government representatives attended the ceremony.

Capt. Abdul Wali, who accepted martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan in September 2022, was also given Sitara-i-Basalat posthumously by the president.
