PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party declared that it would begin protesting against alleged election “rigging” and results manipulation on February 20.
Aimal Wali Khan, the provincial head of the ANP, announced in a statement released here on Wednesday that the protest movement would begin in the Swabi area.
He said that officials from the province and the center would speak in a nonviolent demonstration that would take place in Swabi.
He added that a protest would take place in Charsadda on February 23 after Swabi.
If the government caused any obstacle during the protests, he threatened to hold it accountable.
According to the ANP provincial chief, the election would be heavily rigged, as his party had already stated. He claimed the election on February 8th turned out to be more crooked than the polls in 2018.
According to Aimal Wali, although people were going to the courts to seek justice, the courts were also being “managed.”
“The Election Commission receives court decisions and announces the desired people’s victory there,” the man claimed.
In the meantime, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, the former senior vice-president of the ANP, issued a warning in a different statement that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s financial and administrative problems will get worse. Nonetheless, he predicted that the provinces of Sindh, Punjab, and the central government would all form smoothly.
He requested the party’s central president, Asfandyar Wali Khan, to accept his resignation, saying it was motivated by values.
Mr. Hoti declared, “I am not disappointed & will embark on the political voyage with renewed enthusiasm.”
