SYDNEY: Acting on information from a police officer accused with their murder, Australian police discovered the bodies of a TV presenter and his boyfriend, a flight attendant, in a rural area outside of Sydney on Tuesday. The finding puts an end to a highly publicized search that lasted nearly a week for the bodies of entertainment journalist Jesse Baird, 26, and flight attendant Luke Davies, 29.
Baird was previously romantically involved with a 28-year-old police constable who is now facing two counts of murder charges.
Karen Webb, the head of the New South Wales police, stated, “We are very confident we have located Luke and Jesse,” adding that the relatives of the two fatalities have been informed with sadness and relief. Webb continued, “This information did come with the accused’s assistance.”
Before being put into surfboard bags and driven to a rural site almost two hours away from the city, police think the two were shot at a house in central Sydney.
Ballistics analysis revealed that the projectile recovered from the apartment was identical to one issued by the police.
Subsequently, the firearm was discovered within a police station bunker.
