An Army sentry opened fire on noticing a suspected drone hovering over brigade headquarters within the outskirts of Jammu within the early hours of Monday, official sources said.
The drone was seen by the sentry of a military Garrison at Kalu Chack around 3 am and he swiftly opened fire to bring it down, sources said.
They said the entire area outside the military station was cordoned off immediately and a huge search operation was happening when the reports last came in.
Nothing offensive had been found on the ground up until this point, sources said.
The most recent episode comes scarcely a day after a robot, in a first-of-its sort strike, dropped two bombs at the Indian Air Force station here, making minor wounds two faculty. PTI
