Army chief General Raheel Sharif arrived in Germany on Monday to attend Central and South Asia Security Conference.
“COAS arrives in Munich, Germany for one-day on an official visit. Will attend and address participants of the Central and South Asia Security Conference today,” DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa said.
On Friday, the army chief reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to defeat all internal and external perpetrators of terrorism. With the entire nation standing behind the armed forces in the fight against terror, Pakistan is bound to defeat all internal and external perpetrators of terrorism,” DG ISPR quoted the army chief as saying in a tweet.
General Raheel visited troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir on the eve of Eidul Azha and celebrated Eid with troops in Khyber Agency.
The army chief’s visit to Germany comes just a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Merkel appreciated progress made by Pakistan in its efforts to counter terrorism and acknowledged the country’s contribution towards regional peace and stability.
