In anticipation of a five-match Twenty20 International series against the Green shirts, the cricket team from New Zealand arrived in Islamabad early on Sunday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) greeted the Black Caps to the nation in a statement on X. A video of the team traveling to Islamabad for the forthcoming games was also uploaded.
As both sides prepare for June’s T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies, Pakistan will host New Zealand for five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), beginning on Thursday, April 18 in Rawalpindi.
The 17-man Pakistani team, captained by Babar Azam, includes fast bowler Mohammad Amir, all-rounder Imad Wasim, and uncapped players Usman Khan and Mohammad Irfan Khan Niazi.
On the eve of their departure for Pakistan, wicketkeeper Tom Blundell and uncapped all-rounder Zak Foulkes were recruited to the New Zealand squad as late call-ups, following the injuries suffered by veteran paceman Adam Milne and talented batter Finn Allen.
This is the third time the Kiwis have visited Pakistan in seventeen months. On their maiden return in December 2022, after an 18-year break, they drew two test matches and lost the ODI series 2-1 against New Zealand.
Pakistan dominated the visitors in the One-Day Internationals (ODIs), winning the series 4-1, while the five-match T20I series finished in a 2-2 draw in April of last year.
