SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A local JUI-F commander was killed and five people were injured in an explosion in Azam Warsak bazaar of Lower South Waziristan area on Sunday.
Maulana Shahzada Wazir, the leader of the prayer, was leaving his mosque after prayers around 5 p.m. when a remote-controlled device exploded, according to police officials.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries after surviving the assault. Saddam Hussain, Shah Hussain, Noor Hussain, and Zainullah were among the other injured. Mufti Ejazul Haq was recognized as the deceased JUI-F leader.
An emergency was declared and the injured were treated at the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana.
Two critically ill patients were taken to Dera Ismail Khan for additional care.
Maulana Wazir was the target of the explosive device that was set close to the mosque by unidentified individuals, according to Azam Warsak Police SHO Usman Wazir.
The Wazir tribesmen in the area have voiced their profound remorse and worry over the incident and have vehemently condemned it.
This is the second attack on a political figure in as many days.

After evening prayers, the victim was on his way home when he was ambushed by unidentified attackers riding a motorcycle.
After being shot several times, the 50-year-old guy was taken by locals to the district headquarters hospital in Khar, where he passed away.
Over the past year, the state of law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s three amalgamated districts—South Waziristan Lower, South Waziristan Upper, and North Waziristan—has been becoming worse.
The Wazir, Mehsud, Dawar, Dottani, and Suleman Khel tribes in the area are terrified as a result. In order to bring about peace in Lower South Waziristan, the tribes called on the federal and provincial administrations to act immediately.

Sources claim that the battles with militants, primarily from the outlawed Lashkar-i-Islam, occurred close to the Bagh Markaz, the valley’s principal trading hub in the Malakdin Khel neighborhood.
Conflicts broke out at around 2:00 pm, according to locals, after militants allegedly attacked the army base.
An fierce gunfire ensued when the security forces fought against the attack. Shops in the Bagh Markaz market closed as a result of the attack, which forced people inside their homes.
Numerous militants were also hurt in the cross-firing, according to local sources.
Additionally, it was reported that following a brief respite in the evening, militants launched another onslaught.
According to accounts, security personnel used artillery to bombard the suspected militant’s locations. According to several locals, troops also attacked insurgents in the neighboring hilly regions using gunship helicopters.
One of the mortars reportedly struck the market as well, starting a massive fire that destroyed at least seven stores.
Locals reported that some artillery shells also fell on homes.
After receiving first care at Mishti Hospital in the Orakzai area, one individual, identified as Fazle Rabbi, was hurt and transferred to Peshawar.
He presided over a local farmers’ organization as its president.
Due to the state of law and order in the valley, the Tirah Siyasi Ittehad and local traders have called for protests today (Monday).
