MIRPUR (AJK ), (Parliament Times) : In Azad Jammu Kashmir, entire bureaucracy always served day and night in all of the most difficult conditions ensuring the government system active in every way.
This was told in an extra ordinary meeting of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association District Mirpur held here on Friday.
“The AJK bureaucracy worked beyond its duties to establish the writ of the state and did not even care about sacrificing its self-respect for the sake of the state. The legitimate rights of state employees should be given to them so that they do not feel deprived and they perform their duties with more enthusiasm and devotion”.
These views were expressed in the meeting of the Gazetted Officers Association, held under the chairmanship of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association District Mirpur President Engineer Shahzad Aurangzeb, it was officially said by the Association in a press release issued here on Friday.
The meeting fully supported the 18-point Charter of Demands already moved by the central organization Gazetted Officers Association Azad Jammu and Kashmir and assured that the decisions taken by the central organization would be implemented in Mirpur district in letter and spirit.
All the office bearers of the district organization, General Secretary Raja Humayun Razaq Khan, Senior Vice President Engineer Waqar Hanif, Vice President Farah Owais, Vice President Dr. Mohib-ur-Rehman, Additional General Secretary Raja Akram Subhani, Joint Secretary Muhammad Asif Jamil, Press Secretary Muhammad Javed Malik and Secretary Finance Mukhtar Ahmed Awan, participated in the meeting unanimously.
Fully supporting the 18-point charter of demands presented to the government by the Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association, AJK Gazetted Officers Association District Mirpur President Engineer Shahzad Aurangzeb said that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association is the guarantor of the protection of the rights of the employees. In this regard, the points presented at the central level are the rights of the employees as per the law and constitution, in which the problems of the employees are arising due to the longest delay.
He said that due to the absence of selection boards for officers for a long time, promotions are not happening and for the last many years, they have been performing their duties in the same scale, which is blocking the paths of promotion of other employees. Thus, there is a disparity in the salaries and allowances of the employees within the state, which is not fair in any way.
He further said that due to shortage of staff in some institutions, the workload of the existing staff is increasing, for which the workload should be divided by creating more posts. In place of ad hoc and temporary employees, the Public Service Commission should be activated and permanent appointments should be made so that the shortcomings found in administrative matters can be removed. He further said that the entire charter of demands should be fulfilled by the central organization Azad Jammu and Kashmir Gazetted Officers Association.
He said that the Gazetted Officers Association is a responsible organization that believes in the supremacy of law and constitution and its implementation.
The demands presented by the organization should be resolved before the due date, otherwise a peaceful protest will be held on the instructions given by the central organization.
