KARACHI: A man shot and wounded himself in the Defence Housing Authority on Thursday night over a “financial dispute,” killing a vehicle salesman in the process, according to police.
At the hospital, the suspect is receiving treatment.
According to the police, 65-year-old Kamal Siddiqui was shot and killed at his Phase-II Extension office, which is close to Ayaz Masjid. Khan Shafi, a 50-year-old man who is believed to have attacked, also shot himself.
According to Defence Police SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi, the victim owed the suspect Rs. 10 million, as discovered during the preliminary investigation.
He claimed that the suspect opened fire on him twice when he got to the victim’s Kamal Motors office. He later shot himself as well.
Both the injured and the deceased were brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment and medico-legal formalities, respectively.
