LARKANA: On Thursday, thirteen family members—including women and children—fainted after drinking morning tea at their Garebabad neighborhood in Naudero. The tea had turned deadly when it was discovered that the milk used to make it included a house lizard.
Relatives reported that after drinking the tea, Saira Parveen, Fatima Batool, Imran, Sameer (children), Iqbal Khatoon, Shabiran, Kulsoom, Hakimzadi, Mehran Khatoon, Rasida (women), Ihsan, Saeed, and Mudassir began to experience stomach problems and eventually passed out one after the other.
They were moved right away to the hospital in Naudero, where seven of them received first aid before being taken to the accident and emergency department of Chandka Medical College Hospital because of their unstable condition. The other patients were treated at the nearby hospital and were eventually allowed to return home.
When it was later discovered that the milk used to make the tea included a lizard, the patients’ family informed journalists that the morning tea had become toxic. They added that the seven prisoners receiving treatment at CMCH were also doing well.
