In its first statement since a ceasefire between the two sides went into force, the Lebanese organization Hezbollah claimed to have won “victory” over Israel and that its fighters were ready, according to AFP.
According to the group’s statement, “God Almighty’s victory was the ally of the righteous cause.”
Without specifically referring to the truce or its conditions, the statement also stated that Hezbollah fighters “will remain in total readiness to deal with the Israeli enemy’s ambitions and its attacks.”
According to the Hezbollah statement, Israeli forces were unable to “establish a military and security buffer zone as the enemy had hoped” or stop Hezbollah’s cross-border strikes through their “attempts… to occupy and set up in any of the towns.”
Israel was the objective of Hezbollah fighters “until the last day of the aggression,” according to the report.
