KARACHI: Pakistani Cricketers Shahid Afridi and Javed Miandad on Saturday met to iron out their differences.
Legendary cricketer Miandad arrived at Afridi’s residence where the two sat together on a sofa and gave a joint statement.
Javed Miandad took back his allegations against Shahid Afridi.
“Whatever I said was in an angry state,” said Miandad.
Afridi also tendered his apology to Miandad, although he said that the latter’s words hurt him and his family.
Following the statement, senior cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Wasim Akram spoke to Geo News and expressed happiness over the move made by the two fellow sportsmen.
Earlier according to reports, Shahid Afridi decided not to send a legal notice to Javed Miandad.
Miandad had accused Afridi of being involved in fixing matches in response to Afridi’s statement that the former batsman was always talking about money.
On Friday it was reported that all-rounder Shahid Afridi will send a legal notice to veteran former cricketer Javed Miandad asking the latter to withdraw his match-fixing allegations or else face legal action. However, the notice was not sent.
