LAKKI MARWAT: On Monday night, more than six police officers from the Rocha Check Post in the Wazir subdivision of the Bannu district were abducted by unidentified armed individuals.
Ziauddin Ahmad, the district police officer, verified that seven officers had been kidnapped from the checkpoint.
After encircling the checkpoint, armed terrorists broke in and grabbed the police officers stationed there prisoner at gunpoint, an official told Dawn.
According to the official, “they also stole official rifles from the policemen.”
After the event, a sizable police presence arrived on the scene and began a search for the officials who had been abducted in the isolated, hilly location.
The Rocha Check Post is situated in Bannu district, inside the boundaries of Otmanzai police station, near the border with North Waziristan.
