LAHORE: The list of central contracts for 16 women’s cricket players for the 2024–25 international season was revealed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday.
According to the PCB, after a yearly performance evaluation, the central contracts that went into force on July 1, 2024, were finalized. Twenty players received two-year contracts last year, with the understanding that their performance will be reviewed following the 2023–24 campaign.
Notable changes include the promotion of left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal to Category B and the promotion of Pakistan captain Fatima Sana and wicketkeeper/batter Muneeba Ali to Category A.
The new players on the contract list are Tasmia Rubab, Rameen Shamim, and Gull Feroza.
Rameen and Gull, who were last on the roster in the 2018 and 2022–23 seasons, respectively, have returned, while Tasmia has earned her central contract for the first time.
However, for the upcoming season, the PCB decided not to extend the contracts of a number of players, including Sidra Nawaz, Aliya Riaz, Anosha Nasir, Eyman Fatima, Nida Dar, and Shawaal Zulfiqar.
In line with the ICC Women’s Future Tours Programme 2025–2029, the PCB refocuses its efforts on developing the future generation of cricket players, even though these players will still be available for selection.
Players on the centrally contracted list:
Category A: Sidra Amin, Muneeba Ali, and Fatima Sana
Category B: Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sundhu
Category C: Omaima Sohail and Diana Baig
Gull Feroza, Najiha Alvi, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Ghulam Fatima are all in category D.
