KARACHI: The 10-gram and one-tola rates reached a new all-time high of Rs246,828 and Rs287,900 on Tuesday, up Rs2,486 and Rs2,900, respectively, day-over-day, demonstrating how gold continued to shine.
A $29 per ounce increase to $2,784 pushed up domestic rates, according to the All Sindh Saraf and Jewellers Association (ASSJA). This hike included a $20 per ounce premium in the global bullion rates, which the association had begun establishing in daily local rates last year.
Customers are paying Rs58,471 for 10-gram and Rs68,200 for one-tola, respectively, based on January 1 pricing of Rs188,357 and Rs219,700.
The global gold rate increased from $2,082 per pound on January 1 to $702.
According to dealers, investors may continue to prioritize purchasing gold in light of the Middle East’s escalating tensions, the US elections in November, and the drop in interest rates in other nations.
