ISLAMABAD: The protracted delay in the payment of unpaid reimbursements totaling Rs328.5 billion across multiple categories has alarmed the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA).
According to the PTEA, exporters are still waiting for their due returns in spite of numerous assurances, which has severely hampered business growth and negatively affected the textile export industry’s potential for expansion.
According to the breakdown, the FBR withheld Rs55 billion in sales tax refunds, Rs105 billion in deferred sales tax refunds, Rs25 billion in duty drawbacks, and an additional Rs100 billion in income tax refunds.
