LAKKI MARWAT: After a new case was verified here on Thursday, there was a noticeable increase in dengue virus cases, raising concerns.
The new instance was recorded from the district’s Umar Titterkhel area, according to Jameel Khan, an entomologist with the local health office.
He stated that upon examination of a blood sample at the District Headquarters Complex Tajazai, a laboratory determined that 45-year-old Naqibullah was infected with the virus.
“The patient, a contractor by trade, had traveled from Islamabad to his hometown,” he insisted. He said that the victim’s home was treated for dengue and the surrounding region was fumigated by health personnel.
He continued, “Mosquito nets were provided and screening of other housemates was also done.”
The number of positive cases has increased to six in the current month due to the appearance of a new case, which has prompted the health authorities to enhance surveillance and fully implement the dengue control and prevention strategy.
