ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) declined to end the case of a “missing person,” even though he returned home before a petition asking for his recovery was heard.
In response to a petition filed by Faizan’s father, who had been missing since July, Justice Babar Sattar served notices to the heads of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Military Intelligence (MI), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) requesting a thorough report on the case within seven days.
The judge was notified right away that the missing person had returned home. He did, however, declare that the case would not be dismissed and gave the intelligence services instructions to track down the cars that were allegedly used in his “abduction.”
Judge Sattar also voiced his displeasure with the police’s performance, stating that a video that was posted online appeared to show Faizan leaving his house by himself. This information was provided to the court when police were questioned about the inquiry.
The judge was not happy and ordered the police to look into how the video was published. They then took him away and called Nasir Ali Rizvi, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.
The head of the capital police then told the court that he had met with the PTA and intelligence agency chiefs and requested call detail records for two phone numbers. He claimed that the Internet Protocol Detail Record was being awaited in addition to the material being analyzed.
The investigative team visited Faizan Usman’s home in August after being surprised by his return, but his father refused to let them meet him.
The petition claims that on July 5, men wearing plainclothes and some in black uniforms took his son away without a warrant. The abductors claimed to be members of the CTD police, according to the appeal.
