QUETTA: A list containing the names of 137 individuals who the government has listed on the Fourth Schedule in accordance with the Anti-Terrorism Act has been released by the deputy commissioner.
A warning released on Tuesday claims that the list includes writers, political activists, government personnel, and leaders of student organizations.
According to the official announcement, their names were added to the list because of their purported ties to the Takfir-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The letter stated that “three of them were included in the Fourth Schedule list for links with TTP and 134 for links with banned BLA.”
The notification states that on July 23, the names were decided upon in a meeting presided over by Quetta deputy commissioner Saad Bin Asad. Attending the meeting were members of the district coordination and intelligence committees.
The administration made the decision to list the names of 300 members of various groups on the anti-terrorism law’s fourth schedule list. The names of the Baloch Students Organization’s Balaach Qadir Baloch, Samand Baloch, and Shakoor Baloch are on the list.
The list also included the name of Bohir Saleh, the leader of a different BSO faction connected to the National Party.
Balaach Qadir Baloch attested to the fact that the Fourth Schedule list contained him together with two other BSO officer-bearers. Balaach Qadir stated, “We were asked to report to the Counter Terrorism Department, but we did not do so.”
