The massive Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 travel and tourism exhibition has opened in Dubai, with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the CEO of Emirates and President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, giving the opening speech.
The “leading global travel and tourism event” is being hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from May 6–9; according to a press release from the Dubai government’s media office, it is the event’s “largest edition to date,” with 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries and 41,000 participants.
At the event, executives in the travel industry, policymakers, and travel experts will come together to discuss the theme “Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship.”
According to the press announcement, “200 speakers across more than 50 sessions at the DWTC will be featured during the four-day ATM 2024 conference agenda through May 9.”
It further stated that ATM, which began with 300 exhibitors and 7,000 trade attendees in 1994, has grown to become a “globally renowned event integrating” a variety of travel verticals and sectors, from business travel to luxury hospitality and leisure travel.
According to the press release, “exhibitor participation has increased by 26% this year, with growth recorded across all event verticals.”
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed stated that the “huge enthusiasm” shown by the attendees of ATM 2024 confirmed Dubai’s position as a “major destination” for travel and tourism in the area, emphasizing its function in “shaping the future of the industry by bringing together leaders of allied sectors from all over the world.”
According to the press release, ATM 2024 will highlight visionary entrepreneurs in the hospitality, hotel, and public attractions sectors and highlight their transformative influence in the industry’s future.
It stated that a wide range of speakers on two primary stages—the Global Stage and the brand-new Future Stage—were scheduled to speak during the four days of the conference.
The Future Stage will house all innovation-related material, including subjects like artificial intelligence, NextGen destinations, travel technology, and future trend forecasts, while the Global Stage will hold daily summits examining entrepreneurship, developing markets, sustainability, and luxury.
According to the press release, ATM 2024 is a part of Arabian Travel Week, a celebration of travel and tourism events held in Dubai over ten days. Arabian Travel Week also features the ATM Start-up Competition, ATM Travel Tech, GBTA Business Travel Forums, and Buyer Networking in addition to ATM.
