MIRANSHAH: Following the peace negotiations fell apart, the security forces launched midnight operation in North Waziristan Agency, where at least 150 terrorists were killed in shelling by the fighter jets of the security forces, SAMAA reported Sunday.
According to the official sources, the jet planes of Pakistan Air Force shelled the hideouts of extremists 25 kilometers west of Miranshah in tehsil Boya’s area of Degaan, killing over 150 extremists and wiping out their ten havens. Two fighter jets partook in the operation amidst continued curfew in the entire area.
The security sources confirmed that the most of the terrorists decimated in the late night crackdown, are foreigners.
According to security sources, Uzbek commander Abu Rehman is also among the extremists killed in the operation. The security forces targeted the Uzbek militants who were involved in the attack on Karachi Airport that left nearly 30 people dead on last Sunday.
It should be mentioned here that Pakistan’s armed forces undertook the operation and bombarded the extremists hailing from Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan near Pak-Afghan border as they were planning to leave for Afghanistan. –SAMAA
