ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, e-commerce promotion strategy was approved by Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan.
In charge of an internal briefing on the growing possibilities of e-commerce, the minister emphasized its advancement and asked for suggestions for raising public awareness.
Strategies for the future were highlighted, such as educating the public about digital technologies to assist e-exporters, connecting e-commerce exporters with international payment gateways and online marketplaces, and investigating digital trade agreements.
In order to improve productivity and competitiveness, artificial intelligence integration with e-commerce operations was also discussed. The minister praised the growing use of e-commerce in rural areas, recognizing its enormous potential, especially at the village level.
Other topics covered in the briefing included supporting freelancers, promoting cross-border exporters, guaranteeing digital payments and financial inclusion, and improving global connectivity. The difficulties that the e-commerce industry faces were carefully looked at.
