RAWALPINDI: During its first meeting on Wednesday, the board of directors of the PIA Holding Company approved the scheme of arrangement detailing the procedures involved in Pakistan International Airlines’ privatization.
Tariq Bajwa, a former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, presided over the inaugural gathering. There were four government directors and seven independents on the eleven-person board.
According to a PIA spokesman, the meeting was held at the Secretary Aviation’s Office in Islamabad to officially launch the business.
The accord that outlined the process for the national flag carrier to be privatized was approved by the board. This extensive plan, which has already been approved by the PIACL Board and the federal cabinet, lays the foundation for PIA’s upcoming chapter.
