ISLAMABAD On Monday, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need of strengthening economic relations with the US and the United Arab Emirates and extended an invitation to businesspeople from those two nations to make investments in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The President emphasized the need of strengthening trade and economic links with the United States in addition to looking at joint venture options across several industries, according to the Presidency. He stated that American businesses ought to be encouraged to contribute to the PSX.
According to a news statement from the President Secretariat, President Zardari made these comments while speaking with US Ambassador Donald Blome, who paid him a visit at Aiwan-i-Sadr.
The president informed the US envoy that Pakistan and the US have a deep and comprehensive connection that had lasted for more than 70 years and that it needed to be further developed.
The president stated that Pakistan was one of the nations most susceptible to the adverse effects of climate change, which he claimed was a global concern.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Donald Blome suggested that commerce and investment, agriculture, renewable energy, security, and climate change could all be areas of mutual cooperation between Pakistan and the US.
He said that the US had finished the Sindh Basic Education Programme, which aimed to create schools that are climate resilient and bolster Pakistan’s educational system. In addition, he complimented the president on taking up his position a second time.
UAE envoy
President Zardari was visited later by UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi.
President Zadari emphasized the importance of strengthening trade relations between Pakistan and the UAE in a conversation with the UAE envoy.
In order to support the Pakistani diaspora in the United Arab Emirates, he emphasized the importance of stepping up aviation sector cooperation between the two nations.
Speaking of Sindh, the president informed the UAE envoy that Pakistan was trading carbon credits on the global market and had begun investing in managed forests.
According to Mr. Zardari, initiatives have also been started to line canals in an effort to prevent seepage and increase agricultural output.
The envoy declared during the meeting that Pakistan’s growth was Pakistan’s top priority.
On behalf of the UAE’s leadership and people, the ambassador congratulated President Zardari on securing a second term in office and sent kind regards. President Zardari accepted his invitation to come to the United Arab Emirates.
