The mobile internet services could be snapped in several areas in Kashmir as the Defense Ministry New Delhi Wednesday maintained that the militants are making phone calls by using the mobile internet (GPRS).
According to the reports, the defense ministry has asked DoT to take the matter with the Ministry of Home Affairs GoI so that the mobile internet services in some sensitive areas of Kashmir, where militant activities are high in number, could be suspended.
It has stated further that the ban must be within the legal limits and that the communication services need to be denied in the affected areas for the effective conduct of the counter insurgency and terrorist operations. (KNS)
