To bring the people back and bring them food and drink, a smaller-sized cable car was strung on the same cable. The Pakistan Army also requested assistance from a local cable crossings specialist.
According to Shariq Riaz Khattak, a rescue official on the scene, the open cable car became stuck earlier in the morning halfway across a gorge and was dangling by just one cable after the other broke.
Following the tragedy, SSG soldiers and helicopters from the Pakistan Army Aviation and Pakistan Air Force assisted in the rescue effort.
The rescue effort was challenging because of the strong winds in the vicinity and the potential for increased lift instability caused by the helicopter’s rotor blades, according to Khattak.
