McLellan is known for often writing about his love for biryani and his humourous commentary on American politics, immigration, Islamophobia and race. His understanding of Islam, diversity of Muslims and Pakistani culture has made him popular among Pakistanis and it’s not uncommon to see a myriad of comments from Muslims and Pakistanis on his Facebook status updates.
Pakistanis have been asking McLellan to visit Pakistan for a long time (so we can feed him authentic biryani, of course!) and he’s finally here!
this is how he describe his day 1 & 2 in Pakistan
Pakistan, Day 1
Everyone in Pakistan is so friendly. If I accepted every offer I’ve received to come to people’s houses for dinner or tea I would be here for 10 years and gain 1,000 pounds.
Power keeps going out. Not a big deal for me, but whoever fixes the electrical grid would improve things by a lot.
I’m used to having a lot of personal space. Not much of that here. Takes a while to get used to. Thankfully it’s all friendly.
Weather is nice, especially on rooftops. Felt like Charleston. Way better than Dubai.
Dinner at Haveli was amazing, and the view of the Badshahi mosque took my breath away.
Finally got to see my reporter friend Usman from Pakistan Today who wrote the first articles about me in Pakistan. Great guy.
Jet lag made me sleep in too much. Hope to see more tomorrow. So far I love it. 🇵🇰
Pakistan, Day 2
First show in Lahore at FC College was so much fun. Sold out with a packed, loving, attentive audience. Everyone seemed to have a great time and I had a good Q&A afterwards where we talked about rickshaws and donkey meat.
For years haters have been telling me “if you like Muslims so much, go to one of those Sharia countries like Pakistan and see how they treat Christians!” Well, I did, and so far everything is great. Huge thanks to Islamophobes for the great travel advice.
I love that I’m a Christian and the first Christian college I ever performed for is in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Avoiding tap water is hard. I keep almost forgetting to brush my teeth with bottled water and keep my mouth closed in the shower. I have to be annoying and ask, “Is this water bottled in Lahore? Is this smoothie made with ice? Is this salad washed with tap water?” I feel like a white girl trying to avoid gluten.
I’m glad I have a driver. There’s no way I could drive here without crashing into the motorbikes and rickshaws. I don’t know how everyone does it. Terrifying.
I had Pathan food at Qabail for dinner. The chapli kebab was the best beef I’ve had in my life.
I’m always around so many Pakistani Muslims in the United States, so it’s interesting to actually come here where the entire country is Pakistani Muslim and see if there are any differences. Have to think more about this.
So far everything has been amazing. Every country has its faults, but Pakistan is nothing like the propaganda you see in Western media. Stop watching Homeland and cable news.
Here are the pictures of his visit so far!

I do not i see any faults in Pakistani society.
