You can now broadcast your videos live on Instagram.
Following the footsteps of Facebook and Twitter, the photo-sharing app rolled out its Live Stories feature globally on Tuesday.
“Today we’re excited to share that live video on Instagram Stories — a new way to connect with your friends and followers right now — will be rolling out to our entire global community over the next week,” Instagram announced on their blog post.
Over the coming week, Instagrammers around the globe can begin to use the feature.
Earlier, Live Stories along with a feature that showcases ‘Top Live’ popular streams to watch in real-time was available for users in the US only.
With the global launch of Live Stories, Instagram now has an in-house service for all social photo and video publishing needs.
If you haven’t placed a live story yet, simply open Instagram and swipe right from the home page, or tap the camera icon in the top left corner. Once you do that, swipe right again to launch Live mode or press the icon that states “Start Live Video.”
If you don’t see any of the aforementioned options then you probably need to update your Instagram app on your mobile device as the update will be available to users with Instagram version 10.0 and above.
Just like Facebook, you’ll be able to see comments and likes pour in from your viewers while you stream and soon as your broadcast ends, the video will no longer be visible.
To check out other users’ streams, tap the magnifying glass icon in the bottom navigation bar and hit the Top Live button.
