Governor Sindh and former Chief Justice(R) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui dies from heart attack, reported 24 News.
According to Spokesperson Governor House Sindh, Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui was taken to hospital after his health deteroiated earlier in the day. Earlier, he had been discharged from hospital on December 15 after a health scare.
About Chief Justice(R) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui:
Saeed-uz-Zaman was a jurist and legislator of great prominence who formerly served as the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He was the Chief Justice of Pakistan when the 1999 military coup d’état was staged by then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Army Staff General Pervez Musharraf. Notably, he defied the request given by Musharraf via the Law Minister and Legal Adviser Sharif-ud-din Pirzada to take a new oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
