QUETTA: Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif arrived in Quetta on Tuesday morning. He offered funeral prayers for the martyrs of an attack on a police training centre which killed 61 cadets and injured 117.
He was accompanied by DG ISI Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar and DG Military Intelligence Major General Nadeem Zaki Manj.
The Army Chief visited the site of the tragedy – the police training centre in Quetta – under strict security.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has postponed all official duties and will visit Quetta shortly.
The prime minister is expected to chair a special meeting to review the law and order situation of the city following a terrorist attack at a police training centre late Monday night in which 61 cadets were martyred and over 117 injured, including several FC personnel. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up inside the training centre. One suicide bomber was killed by the security forces before he could detonate himself. The compound was cleared after an intense operation which lasted four hours.
