ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit Azad Kashmir on a one-day visit prior to his speech in the United Nations General Assembly.
The prime minister will take the Azad Kashmir prime minister and president into confidence and meet Hurriyat leaders separately, sources said.
The prime minister will take up issues related to the atrocities inflicted by the Indian Army in occupied Kashmir during the meeting, sources added. In the last 70 days curfew has been imposed in the occupied valley and over 100 people have been killed for protesting against the Indian government.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister House, Nawaz Sharif will leave for New York on Saturday, September 17 and he will address the General Assembly on September 21.
Due to the visit the National Apex Committee session has been postponed.
