MARDAN:
Army chief General Raheel Sharif and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday met at Mardan Airbase and discussed the current national situation as well as the ongoing war against terrorism.
During the chance meeting which lasted for around 12 minutes, the army chief and Imran agreed to effective measures to uproot the menace of terrorism, reported a private TV channel.
Both the leaders strongly condemned the Mardan blast but commended the security forces for foiling a terror bid in Peshawar. Peshawar corps commander and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak were also present at the meeting.
After meeting victims of the blast at Mardan’s DHQ, Imran told media that the war against terror had not ended yet. He said the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism was not being implemented.
