KARACHI: Religious scholar Aamir Liaquat Hussain has rejected the claim made by MQM member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ali Raza Abidi that the former wants to rejoin the party.
He also denied that he was running a campaign “MQM needs Aamir Liaquat Hussain” on social media.
His denial comes after Ali Raza Abidi, while speaking at Samaa’s programme “Tasveer”, claimed that the religious leader wants to rejoin the party.
Hussain said that the MQM’s MNA should ask about his rejoining from his new party chief, referring to Dr. Farooq Sattar.
He left the MQM after the party chief Altaf Hussain delivered an anti-Pakistan speech to the participants of hunger strike camp outside Karachi Press Club.
Soon after leaving the MQM, the religious leader said that he was being receiving death threats through SMS and phone calls.
“If I got killed, Altaf Hussain would be responsible,” Hussain said
