Indian troops martyr two youth in IHK
Srinagar, June 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has emphasized that the negotiations on Kashmir can never be fruitful unless India accepts Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory.
Reacting to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s assertions during his visit to the territory, Syed Ali Gilani said that Kashmir is neither an economic problem nor an issue related to good or bad governance. The people of Kashmir, he added, have rendered sacrifices for their inalienable right to self-determination.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that the Manmohan Singh’s government has been continuously engaged in human rights abuses and killings of the Kashmiris.
APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, liberation leader Javed Ahmad Mir and human rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo at a meeting in Srinagar said that by refraining from making a mention of the Kashmir dispute, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had reflected India’s traditional unrealistic approach towards the Kashmiris as well as the dispute. The meeting was presided over by senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah.
APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement said that India was not serious about peaceful and amicable settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
The Umat-e-Islami at a meeting denounced the shifting of Qazi Yasir from hospital to Central Jail in Srinagar. The party expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of the detained leader.
Doctors started an indefinite strike against the arrest of Doctors’ Association President, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan. The APHC in a statement condemned the arrest.
Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth at Morha Gap in Baisali area of Rajouri district.
The troops raided the house of APHC leader, Bashir Ahmad Andrabi and subjected the inmates to torture and harassment besides ransacking.
On the other hand, three dead bodies including two of women were recovered from Srinagar, Gandarbal and Udhampur areas.
