KARACHI: Different areas of Karachi Tuesday evening received rain coupled with strong winds, bringing relief for citizens following a brief hot spell, Samaa reported.
The first monsoon rain turned the weather pleasant as many areas including Nazimabad, Liaqatabad, North Nazimabad, Baldia, SITE Area, Maripur, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar received showers.
According to Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB), K-Electric’s transmission line of 132 KV has tripped as a result of strong winds and heavy rainfall.
KE has issued an advisory, urging citizens to stay from electric poles and not to use wet hands for door bells.

An official of Met Office said that the Department’s observatory at Old Airport area had recorded 31 millimeters of rain till 8.20 p.m.
He stated that earlier in the evening Karachi’s Nazimabad area had received 4.2 millimeters of rain.
The official said that the city would receive occasional rain for one to two days.
The forecast for Karachi during the next 24 hours is partly cloudy with chances of rain and thunderstorm.
The maximum temperature in the metropolis is expected to range between 37 to 39 degrees Centigrade.
The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 38 degrees Centigrade whereas the minimum was 29 degrees Centigrade.
Reports said other cities of Sindh, inclining Tando Allahyar, Umarkot Chachro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Sukkur, also experienced the rainfall.
