Mobilink’s infrastructure hub in Multan caught fire earlier today, leaving company’s network in Multan and surrounding cities (including Rahim Yar Khan, Bhawalpur, Sadiqabad etc) to go offline, we have checked with sources.
Early reports are suggesting that the damage has been controlled and work on network restoration is underway.
While there is no ETA or timeline for full recovery of Mobilink’s network in region has been communicated so far, it is reported that services are going to get back by day end in phases.
Mobilink is still in process of ascertaining the cause of fire.
Mobilink, in a communication with ProPakistani, confirmed the incident and said that technical and security teams responded immediately and are working diligently to ensure that connectivity is restored in the affected areas, as soon as possible.
Company said that fire mainly impacted its data center. Fortunately no lives were lost, confirmed us the company.
