Constitution Day is being observed today with the renewed pledge to uphold supremacy of the Constitution.
The current constitution was presented in the National Assembly on this day in 1973, and was unanimously approved by all political parties on the 19th of April.
The 1973 Constitution has 280 articles and in all 22 amendments have been made to it so far.
In a message on the occasion, Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said the nation should pledge to counter all attempts to sabotage democratic, parliamentary and federal character of the constitution.
