ISLAMABAD: A bomb scare at the Benazir International Airport was declared to be a rumour and all flights have been given a security clearance for take off.
Flight operations were halted at the Benazir International Airport after a bomb scare in two international airlines was reported early morning on Tuesday.
Emergency was declared at the airport. Security officials diverted 10 international flights to airports in Lahore and Peshawar.
Police reached the airport and all flights were checked for bombs or explosives.
Passengers remained stranded for hours.
On March 17, a similar bomb scare was reported at the New Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport. After halting flight operations for several hours it was found that the bomb scare was actually a rumour.
