Disciplined bowling from Pakistan women team restricted India to 96 runs for seven wickets at the end of first innings at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday.
Veda Krishnamurthy was the top scorer for India with a knock of 24 runs from 19 deliveries, hitting three boundaries in the process. However, no other batsman was able to cross the individual mark of 20 runs.
For Pakistan, all bowlers claimed one wicket each, except for Bismah Maroof who failed to get any. Asmavia Iqbal gave a brilliant performance on the field after being involved in two run-outs for the national women’s side.
Earlier, Pakistan skipper Sana Mir earlier won the toss and elected to bowl on a slow pitch. Her decision paid off as the hosts were unable to stand their ground due to Pakistan’s fierce bowling attack.
