LAHORE: Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik has said that Punjab government is successfully running HIV AIDS Control Programme (HCP) with its own resources and maximum funds would be provided for HCP’s expansion and devising new strategy for better results.
He said this while addressing a consultative seminar arranged by Punjab AIDS Control Programme in the collaboration with UNAIDS and WHO to commemorate the World AIDS Day at a local hotel here on Thursday.
UNAIDS Country Director Dr. Mamadou Sakhu said that Punjab AIDS Control Programme is moving in the right direction. He stressed the need for awareness seminars at grass root level and enhancing HIV lab test facilities for the affected persons so that people could have easy access to the information regarding HIV AIDS Control and follow precautionary measures.
Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive disease prevention programme.
