SIALKOT: A civilian was martyred in unprovoked heavy shelling by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the Sialkot border village of Thathi Khurd in Sucheetgarh Sector along the Working Boundary on Tuesday.
According to Sialkot District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Asif Tufail, people were sleeping when the Indian BSF started unprovoked heavy mortar shelling on villages in Sucheetgarh and Charwah sectors along the Working Boundary early in the morning.
He said Muhammad Shareef (60) was hit by some mortar shells when he was sleeping in the courtyard of his house in Thathi Khurd-Sucheetgarh village. He died on the spot and his house was also badly damaged, he added.Six cattle heads were also reportedly killed and more than two-dozen others were also injured, the DCO said
