Two terrorists were also killed in the targeted raid, which was conducted at suspected hideouts of banned outfits in the city’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
As Rangers conducted the raid, terrorists intercepted and opened fire, which resulted in the death of three people.
Muhammad Sajjad, an Intelligence Officer, was killed in the cross fire, along with two terrorists, identified as Abdul Ahad and Saleh.
Initial reports from the DIG East Office revealed that two 9mm pistols were recovered from the vicinity.
Earlier this month, Rangers carried out a raid at four unit offices of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Karachi’s Landhi area, with the party claiming at least seven workers had been arrested.
