PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast occurred in Tirah valley of Khyber agency on Wednesday that left at least three security personnel dead, according to a security official.

The security official said that the explosion took place in the Sandana area of Tirah valley wherein an IED planted on the roadside exploded when security personnel were passing through the area.
Resultantly, three security personnel including a Pakistan army captain were killed in the attack.
The security forces continue to conduct the operation Khyber-2 in the northwestern restive tribal region against militants as a part of efforts to wipe out terrorism from the country.
In addition, the security forces also carrying out operations across the country to apprehend and kill militants under the national plan of action to fight terrorism.
Earlier on Tuesday, the security forces arrested 187 suspects in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The sources said that 83 suspects were apprehended in Peshawar, 70 in Kohat, 22 in Charsadda and 12 in Jalozai area of Nowshera.
The security forces also recovered arms and ammunition from the possession of the suspects.
