ISLAMABAD: COAS General Raheel Sharif today directed all field commanders of the Pakistan Army to extend all possible assistance to people in areas affected by floods.
According to ISPR, all field commanders have been instructed to carry out effective reconnaissance of their areas and provide all possible relief to people affected by floods.
Also, all corps headquarters are monitoring the flood situation. Pakistan Army is busy in relief operations in areas of Chitral district, where the Frontier Corps distributed ration with the help of civil administration.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also directed authorities to expedite relief efforts as flash floods affected various parts of the country. He also expressed his grief and sorrow for the victims and all the flood-related damages.
Flash floods triggered by monsoon rains in the country’s north have damaged several homes, roads and bridges. Rescuers are working to move those stranded to safer places in Chitral.
