BEIJING, June 3 : The death toll from a fire at a poultry slaughterhouse in northeast China’s Jilin Province has risen to 119 as of Monday afternoon, the rescue commanding center said. As of 4:25 p.m., the fire that broke out around 6:06 a.m. at a wokshop owned by the Jilin Baoyuanfeng Poultry Company in Mishazi Township of Dehui City had also injured dozens of others. Search and rescue work is under way, and the exact number of people trapped in the plant has yet to be confirmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
