AMSTERDAM: After France, Holland imposed a ban on veils in public places.
Holland’s parliament passed a bill against the veil. According the new law women will be banned from covering their faces in public transport, schools, hospitals and government offices. Masks and helmets are also included in this ban
Mark Rutte, Holland’s Prime Minister said that, the bill is not a discrimination against any religion.
The country respects freedom to wear any dress. However, veils, helmets and masks hide the face.
In the past Holland tried to impose a ban on veil but the ban was in contradiction to a clause in the constitution which guaranteed the freedom of religion
