CAIRO: According to residents and medical professionals, Israeli forces murdered at least 22 Palestinians on Sunday, the most of whom were in the northern Gaza Strip. One of the targets of the attacks was a school that provided shelter to displaced Palestinians.
According to them, two people were murdered by drone fire in Rafah, nine people were killed in the cities of Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia camp, and at least half of the victims were killed in three different airstrikes on homes in Gaza City.
The Gaza health ministry reported on Sunday that at least 44,976 Palestinians, primarily civilians, had been killed and 106,759 wounded in Israeli attacks over the previous 14 months.
According to residents and medical professionals in Beit Hanoun, Israeli forces stormed the Khalil Aweida school, where families were taking refuge, and then ordered them to leave for Gaza City.
While the army apprehended numerous men during the attack on the school, medics reported that other people were killed and injured. It was unclear at first how many people were killed.
The military claimed to have detained other militants in Beit Hanoun and killed dozens of them both on the ground and in the air.
Israel also reported that its air force had hit a Hamas command and control center located in a complex at the Abu Shabak clinic in northern Gaza.
The hospital facility, which also housed a mental health center, was destroyed, according to the Gaza health ministry.
Israel is accused by Palestinians of using ethnic cleansing to clear out the northern border areas in order to establish a buffer zone.
