Around fourteen students took ill after having a dinner during an inter-distruct Khokho tournament in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district last night.
The students were participating in an inter-district Khokho tournament organized by the Department of Sports Council at Girls higher secondary school Singhpora kalan in the district.
“They complained of vomiting and abdominal pain after eating the dinner,” said an official.
He said they were immediately rushed to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.
“These students had developed abdominal pain and were vomiting at the time of being admitted in the hospital. They were provided necessary treatment and were discharged later,” said Dr Govinder, Deputy Medical Superintendent Baramulla district hospital.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Baramulla Imtiyaz Ahmad said they were looking into the matter.
“We are looking into the matter and are trying to ascertain how these students had developed such symptoms during the event,” he said.
