A “foolproof” security plan has been created for the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) forthcoming games in Karachi, according to Sindh police on Tuesday.
The highly anticipated tournament will now go to Karachi, where matches will be held at the National Bank Stadium from February 20 to March 18 once its Lahore leg is concluded.
The spokesperson for Sindh’s Special Security Unit said in a statement released today that about 1,000 commandos, along with police officers from various districts, traffic cops, members of the Rapid Response Force, Rangers, and other law enforcement organizations, would be in charge of providing security at the stadium, practice fields, airports, highways, and lodging facilities.
In addition, he said, specialized command and control buses will be positioned at the stadium to keep an eye on the state of law and order in the immediate vicinity. Sharpshooters will also be stationed at strategic locations throughout the city.
A spokeswoman for SSU added, “In addition, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, which is made up of highly skilled and well-equipped commandos, including female staff, will remain vigilant at SSU Headquarters as an immediate reaction force to challenge any emergency situation.”
In the interest of public convenience, the statement went on to emphasize that all roads will continue to be accessible to commuters.
It further stated that SSU commandos dressed in tracksuits will provide fans with complete “guided and assistance” from parking locations to the enclosure.
It stated, “A parking area for spectators visiting the stadium has been designated for the China ground next to the National Coaching Center.”
Special guidelines for onlookers were also included in the message. According to the statement, fans can buy match tickets by going to any of the authorized TCS Express Centers located all throughout the nation.
According to the statement, “every visitor has to provide their CNIC at the location to prove their identity.” “Arrive at the stadium early to prevent having to wait in long lines.”
It stated that three hours prior to the start of the game, all admission gates would be opened. The stadium was closed to the use of weaponry, plastic guns, fireworks, explosives, tobacco products, lighters, cigarettes, and any object with a sharp edge, such as knives or metal or wooden clubs.
The statement declared that spectators were not permitted to hurl any objects on the ground, either at the performers or other spectators. It further stated that “any advertisement, postcard, or placard expressing discriminatory or filthy comments on the grounds because of ethnic origin, race, or religion are strictly forbidden.”
