In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik led a protest march in Srinagar, today, in support of Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees special privileges and rights of the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing the protesters after the Friday prayers in Lal Chowk said that Article 35-A was directly linked to right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We want the rulers of India to know that every Kashmiri would protect the state subject law with their blood and life. Kashmiris know that their self-determination right will be automatically snatched from them if state subject law is scrapped,” said Yasin Malik.
The JKLF Chairman said that the Joint Resistance Leadership will issue a protest calendar after consultations with all stakeholders to safeguard the state subject law.
